After updating my xbox my disc tray won't read disc even brand new games xbox a joke anymore

And don't try to say it's a dirty disc drive because If I reset my xbox and of times it will work like 30 times or more

I've had similar problems to this. I tried playing Dead Island when it was brand new on my xbox only to get "Open Disc Tray" message. This meant disc reader is dead. Then my L4D2 disc stopped being read so that means new disc.

So either the disc reader is having problems or somethings with the disc. Hope your problem gets resolved soon.

I have the new Xbox console and take excellent care of it and my discs. My problems started after getting onto Xbox live, i bought a gold pass and by having my console online it offered updates for games i have been playing. I thought this was great getting
the lastest updates for my console and games. Then the problems started with a message when i tried to play a game, the message read 'cant read disc/clean disc' after three days it now wont read any disc and just display 'open tray'. I have been shocked my

Since i have downloaded the new update today (24th of May 2011), my Xbox does not read any of my games anymore (games, films, music, etc.). I tried the solutions shown in the thread "My console says ‘Open Tray,’ or won’t read my disc.", but none of them
worked.

Maybe, its your Disc Tray...Maybe it can't read game discs anymore!
