After several months gamertag won't change in xbox console companion

After several months or even longer of waiting my gamertag hasn't changed and have no idea on what to do. Any help...?

The new gamertag you have, does it have the suffix or any special characters in it? Or do you show as having 2 gamertags in other areas?

Sometimes with the Xbox one console companion it is glitchy. However I'd suggest checking the change on the Xbox website. If your new gamertag appears there, Then you might just need to remove your account and check again.

This still doesn't work, I have been waiting months after changing it on both Xbox one and the companion app....

Hello, are you able to try changing your Gamertag through the Xbox Companion App on a Windows PC or directly through your Xbox console (if you have one)? If so, I'd advise changing the Gamertag through there for the time being.

Unfortunately, you won't receive a "forced" change of your gamertag because of harrassment. The only reason you'd be forced to change your gamertag is if it violated the Code of Conduct, and even then you could suffer a BAN depending on the overall severity
of it.
