    After saving a game capture using the console companion app, the Game category is "Unknown"...


    I have tried this on both the console companion app and the beta app. I would like to save some captures to upload to forums and reddit, or trim and rename them. I have to download them to my PC to do this, but once I do, the game category says unknown
    and I cannot reupload the capture to Xbox Live anymore. This happens with captures even if I download them and do not trim or rename them.

    I believe that this might be an issue with the Console Companion App so if you have any other way to store and edit the captures you should try that

    I haven't tried the Companion App before but maybe try to uninstall and reinstall the app? It's possible there is an update to it, or you have a bad install of the app itself. I would try to reinstall it, as this should also download any updates it might
    have as well. Hopefully that works. Good luck!

    I haven't tried the Companion App before but maybe try to uninstall and reinstall the app? It's possible there is an update to it, or you have a bad install of the app itself. I would try to reinstall it, as this should also download any updates

    The uninstall process is not simple, so it seems Microsoft doesn't intend for people to uninstall it. I'm hesitant to do that, especially since I don't know if it'll keep my captures or delete them.

    I could do it on my Xbox, but I prefer to use the companion app. If you can't do things on the app, why should it exist?
