  1. After Password Changes, Xbox 360 Will Not Sign In To XBox Live

Suddenly, my Xbox 360 is asking me to sign in to Xbox Live. Regardless of how many times I change the password, this thing will not sign in. I have done all the stuff recommended on these pages. Changed my passwords, deleted my Xbox profile, etc. etc. It
will not work. The bloody machine doesn't even show up on my Microsoft account anymore. All my other computers and Xbox One show up fine.

HELP. How do I fix this? I've tried practically everything. I can't use the thing now. It's just an expensive paperweight.

    :)

How to password protect your Xbox LIVE profile

    Xbox LIVE password overview

It is possible to download your Xbox LIVE profile to several different consoles. You may need to do this if you have more than one Xbox 360 console, or you want to play games at a friend's house. In such a situation, you may want to password protect your Xbox LIVE account so that no one else can sign in using your profile.

Set the console to remember your password

Once you have downloaded your Xbox LIVE profile to a console, you will be asked if you want the console to remember your password. The Remember Password option is usually off by default. This means that you will be asked for your Microsoft account password every time you sign into Xbox LIVE.

If you don't want to be asked for your Microsoft account password every time you sign into Xbox LIVE, select the Remember Password option.

Change the password protection on your profile

You are required to set the Remember Password option after you download your Xbox LIVE profile. However, you can change the password protection on your Xbox LIVE profile any time.

If you don't need a password to sign in:

Sign into your Xbox LIVE profile. After you have entered your Microsoft account password, select the Remember Password option.

If you choose the Remember Password option, you will not be asked for your Microsoft account password the next time you sign into your Xbox LIVE profile.

If you need a password to sign in:

You can restrict access to your Xbox LIVE profile on any console using your Microsoft account password.

    Steps to follow

    1) Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.

    2) Under Settings, select Account and then Account Security

    3) Choose the option for Password at Sign In.

    4) Select Require Password Here

You will be asked for your Microsoft account password the next time you sign into your Xbox LIVE profile.

How to password protect your Xbox LIVE profile remotely

If you downloaded your Xbox LIVE profile to another console and it is not password protected, or someone has compromised your password, you can change the password from a remote location so that no one else can access your profile.

    Change your Microsoft account

    1) Sign into accounts.live.com using your Microsoft account.

    2) Go to Account Information and, next to Password, click Change.

You can also use your console to change your Microsoft account password.

Note: If the Xbox LIVE profile you downloaded does not require a password to sign in (You selected the Remember Password option), you will not be able to restrict someone from signing into your Xbox profile even if you change your Microsoft account password.

You can remove your Microsoft account password so that other people cannot access your Xbox profile on other consoles. This will ensure that a password is required before signing into your Xbox profile.

Remotely set a profile password from a computer:

    1) Sign into your Xbox LIVE account.

    2) Under Settings, select Account, and then Account Security

    3) Choose the option for Password at Sign In.

    4) Select On All Other Consoles.

Once you have done this, a password will be required to sign into your Xbox LIVE profile on all other consoles.

    How to Troubleshoot profile-password errors

It is possible to restrict access to your Xbox LIVE profile from any console by making it necessary to use your Microsoft account password to sign into your profile.

You may encounter the following errors when you try making your password necessary for sign-in:

    • "Sorry, there was a problem requiring your password for sign-in on other consoles. Your password is still remembered for other consoles. Try again later, or try requiring password on sign-in from www.xbox.com. Visit xbox.com/security if you think someone else is accessing your account."
    • "Sorry, there was a problem requiring your password for sign-in on this console. Your password is still remembered on this console. Try again later, or try requiring password on sign-in from www.xbox.com. Visit xbox.com/security if you think someone else is accessing your account."
Solution: Set a password requirement on Xbox.com

    1) Click My Account

    2) Go to Settings & Preferences

    3) Select Xbox 360 Profile Protection

    4) Sign in using your Microsoft account (email and password associated with your Xbox LIVE account). You will see the number of consoles that don't require a sign-in password to access your Xbox LIVE profile.

    5) Click Protect Profile. This will make it necessary to download your profile again using your Microsoft account before it can be used on any console. All previous copies of your profile will not work, and any changes or achievements that had not yet been saved to Xbox LIVE will be lost.

Important: If you feel that your password has been compromised, you can change your Microsoft account password by following these steps:

    1) Sign into accounts.live.com using your Microsoft account.

    2) Got to Account Information, and next to Password, click Change.

If you are unable to set a sign-in password on Xbox. com, you should check the Xbox LIVE service status.

If the Xbox LIVE service status is up and running, you should repeat the process later.

If the problem persists, contact Xbox Support.

After Password Changes, Xbox 360 Will Not Sign In To XBox Live

Try calling the Help center or retrieving emails etc. I get a doubt you also have Microsoft Autenticator? It can help if you connect the email and then use this thing that returns you to use your old profile Xbox/Microsoft

Xbox One Account and locking one out?

Password protect your Xbox Live profile remotely

If your Xbox Live profile is downloaded to another console and it’s not password protected or your password becomes compromised, you can remotely remove the password so that your profile can’t be accessed. Here’s how:

Step 1: Change your Microsoft account

Go to accounts.live.com and sign in with your Microsoft account.

Under Account information, click Change next to Password.

Alternatively, you can change your Microsoft account password from your console by following the steps at Change your Microsoft account password.

Note If your downloaded Xbox Live profile doesn’t require a password at sign in (the Remember Password option is turned on), changing your Microsoft account password won’t prevent someone from signing into your Xbox Live profile. In this case, you need to
    complete the next step.

Step 2: Require a password to sign in

Remove your Microsoft account password so that your Xbox Live profile can’t be accessed from other consoles. You can do this:

    On your computer

    On your Xbox console

Computer steps: Remotely require a profile password

    Go to My Account.

Under Settings & Preferences, click Xbox 360 Profile Protection.

Sign in with the Microsoft account (email address and password) that is associated with your Xbox Live account.

Select Require Profile Download to require that your profile be redownloaded from Xbox Live, using your Microsoft account and password, before it can be used on a console. Any existing copies of your profile will no longer work, and profile changes or
achievements that are not saved to Xbox Live will be lost.

Console steps: Remotely require a profile password

Sign in to Xbox Live with your account.

Go to Settings, select Account and then select Account Security.

    Select Password at Sign In.

    Select On All Other Consoles.

If you choose this option, all other consoles will require your Microsoft account password for sign in (or redownloading of your Xbox Live profile).

If you believe your Xbox Live account has been compromised go to Xbox Live account security.

Important Unfortunately, Xbox LIVE customer support cannot reset Microsoft account passwords. If you need to request a Microsoft account password reset, please contact customer support.

    SECURITY

If this is on a 360 you would need to follow the steps here

Remove your password from other Xbox 360 consoles remotely

If you download your Xbox Live profile to another console and it's not password protected, or if your password becomes compromised, you can remotely remove the password so that no one else can access your profile.
There are two ways to do this:

    Option 1:
    Change your password
. The next time anyone tries to sign in on any console where your password has been saved, the sign-in will fail if they don't know the new password.

Option 2: Remove your profile from all Xbox 360 consoles where it's been previously downloaded. Here's how:

    1. Sign in to your account on Xbox.com.
    2. Select Xbox settings from your gamertag drop-down.
    3. Select Xbox 360 profile protection.
    4. Select Require Profile Download.
Once you select Require Profile Download, it will take effect immediately. Your profile and history will remain on Xbox.com, Xbox Live, and Xbox 360 consoles. But anyone (including you) who wants to use
an Xbox 360 console with your profile on it will be required to redownload your profile to connect to Xbox Live.

For more information about how to download your profile, see

Download your Xbox Live profile to a different Xbox 360 console or redownload it
    .

If it is on an xbox one then you would just need to sign into account.live.com and change your password and the next time the person tries to sign in it will ask for the new password and they wont be able to sign in with the account if they dont know the
    new password.

    signing me out

Set the console to remember your password

After you download your Xbox Live profile to a console, you are asked if you want the console to remember your password.

    Remember password

This option determines whether you need your Microsoft account password to sign into your profile. TheRemember Password option is off by default, which means you’ll be prompted for your Microsoft account password when you sign in with your
    Xbox Live profile.

If you don’t want to be prompted for your Microsoft account password every time you sign into Xbox Live, select the Remember Password option.

    OR

Change the password protection on your profile

The Remember Password option is set after you download your Xbox Live profile. But you can change the password protection on your profile at any time. Here’s how:

Don’t require a password to sign in

If your Xbox Live profile is password protected, you can change this the next time you sign into your Xbox Live profile. When you’re prompted for your Microsoft account password at sign in, select the Remember Passwordoption.

If you select the Remember Password option, you won’t be prompted for your Microsoft account password the next time you sign in to your Xbox Live profile.
