After a year, my minecraft launcher stopped working

I am very sorry for the problem you are going through, with the intention of being able to help you I did an internal search on the Microsoft forum and found a publication by Gerardo C., an independent advisor, where he suggests the following steps to try to solve the problem:

Please download the Minecraft Launcher from the Xbox application on your Windows 10 PC since it is more updated from there. Sign in with your Mojang account and if you have already migrated your account then use your Microsoft account to sign in.

If the problem persists, do the following:

Perform a hard reset of both your Xbox app and the Microsoft Store. To do this, you must type in the Windows search engine and open the following: Applications and features.

Find the "Xbox" application and select it, then click on Advanced Options and click on "Reset" and confirm the process, do the same for the "Store" application. It is recommended that you restart your PC after finishing this.

My computer got a virus that stole my minecraft launcher token. Can the token be reset to stop the person who stole it from using my account will the token be reset automatically after a period of time?

My daughter had the same issue with being unable to start Minecraft Jave Edition launcher (downloaded from Mojang website) after W11 upgrade. There was an error related to MS store. The fix was to go to MS store, find Minecraft Launcher and click on "Download". After that step, application was working w/o issues.

Hi. It won't let me download the launcher on minecraft.net. I start the download but after just seconds it stops refers me to the microsoft store. And when i try to downlaod minecraft via the microsoft store it doesn't work either. What can I do?

I have the same issue and not working deleting profile.json file. The problem is that when i start minecraft launcher, the launcher and the microsoft store open at same time but microsoft store glitches and only can be closed after closing minecraft launcher with Task Manager or reseting the computer.
