    Adult child account help


    Alright I got my Xbox about a year ago and it didn't get done update and starting till late at night. I created my account email and actual Xbox account and filled out privacy and all other info on the account (note I set the date of birth to 1957). Then
    it wanted me to create another account so I guess Xbox does this as a guest account or something to didn't say anything. I tried to go around it, but couldn't so I created a random email password and everything for it. So now the only account I have on my
    Xbox is mine and I can't adjust privacy settings, but my real question is if I reset my Xbox create a new account and everything can I add my odd account without it affecting the new account or Xbox.

    I need help, I have a child on an adult account, and I need to restrict his Internet Access to that of a child. Not sure where to go in my account to restrict Adult Content. Please help.

    Cross-platform for child accounts don't work, no matter what settings I set

    The cross-platform setting does not enable on a child account.

    I have tried several options including:

    • Account setup as a child in the MS family account and Xbox
    • Account setup as a child in the MS family account but the Xbox settings all set to adult/unrestricted
    • Account setup with over 18 Date of Birth in the MS family account but still a Child and the Xbox settings all set to adult/unrestricted
    • Account setup as Adult in the MS family account and Xbox settings all set to adult/unrestricted
    • Changing the child account to Adult and Xbox settings all set to adult/unrestricted.
    Can someone help me how to set up my kid's accounts so they can play together?

    Hi Hendo,

    Thanks for coming to the forums. If the account is still a child it is recommended to keep the adult account assigned to the family until the child account graduates to an adult account. If you are an adult and made a child account in error there is

    ways you can prove your age.     As on Xbox.com you are unable to change the birthdate at all.

    They can only do it on adult account not a child account sorry, Even if the parent gives permission the account needs to be an adult not a child, sorry it is the way the account secuirty is set up. Also you cannot change an child account to an adult due
    to it set to date of birth when signing up I hope this helps :D.

    Hi there!

    Child accounts are automated and will graduate to adult accounts once they reach the proper age.

    Unfortunately, it is not possible to change a child account into an adult account outside of the automatic timeline.

    Rest assured the account will become an adult account at the appropriate time for your region.

    Being the organizer of a Microsoft family doesn't change the child status of the account, the family organizer needs to be an adult account the child account must be added as a child account thst will allow the adult account to manage this settings

    Family accounts

    An adult account is required in order to set up restrictions for your child's account, ideally you would put gold on the adult account and share that with the child's account that would be added.
