  1. Adjust volume of headphones that has no mic

If I plug in a headphone that contains a microphone into the controller then you will see the Settings Audio option, and from here you can adjust the volume level. But if you plug in a headphone that does not have a microphone then the Settings Audio option
is not shown, and as a result you can not adjust the volume.

I use some over the eat headphones, plugged into the controller, to watch films with, but I am unable to adjust the volume level.

Could the Xbox developers add something to the OS that looks out for this sort of thing.

    Many thanks.

    :)

Adjust volume of headphones that has no mic

    Hello!

I recently have the same opposite issue. I plug a mic/headset (which is my cellphone one) and it only recognize it as Headset. It´s weird, considering that it was not the first time using it. I use it on a lot other times, and did work as expected. So, maybe
try blowing into your 3.5mm jack in, or cleaning the headset plug. It may work, maybe? The mic ones and the heatset ones have different plug (Two strips for the headset ones, three for the mic ones), it all depends on the controller.

Could be an issue with the headphone jack or with your chat audio settings. Try adjusting your mic volume in system>audio settings in the guide menu

Game audio through headset without adapter

When headphones are plugged into the controller, there should be an option to adjust the "headset volume" (which is the game volume through your headphones).

When headphones are plugged into the controller...

    • Double-tap the Xbox Guide button.
    • Go down to the "Settings" icon (picture of a cogwheel).
    • You should see a bunch of volume slider settings underneath the "All Settings" option.
      • Headset mic (on/off switch)
      • Headset Volume (slider)
      • Headset Chat Mixer (slider)
      • Mic Monitoring (slider)
    • Adjust "Headset Volume" to the desired volume level.
If you don't see all those volume options, your Xbox might need a simple
    power cycle
. Then you can try the steps above again.

The game audio through the controller works just fine with my pair of Bose QuietComfort 25 (QC25) headphones.

    Hopefully this helps!
I see the sliders but after i adjust them the settings dont save! How to i make the xbox save my adjusted volume settings?

Have a look at this manual from polk. It shows the audio adaptor. It looks like any headphone that is 3.5mm will work on it (eg iphone headphones with mic). Has the option for chat and game volume to be adjusted on the adaptor. Looks sweet and means I can
just use a cheap pair of headphones.
