Additional Network Ports for Multiplayer Gaming: Xbox one party chat sounds awful

Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is an issue with party chats on Xbox. I recommend to have everyone check their Xbox Live ports on the Network Hardware. Try this article: Network
ports used by Xbox Live on Xbox One. Some game developers require you to open additional ports. You should always check the game developer's website to see if the game you're playing needs additional ports to work.

There are many Xbox services that require open ports on your router. I've included the link to the ports that Xbox has published on their support site.

In addition to that, you might want to check Settings > General > Volume & Audio Output > Chat Mixer and Party Chat Output are set to headphones.

Ports required to use Xbox Live

These ports must be open for Xbox Live to work:

• Port 88 (UDP)
• Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
• Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
• Port 80 (TCP)
• Port 500 (UDP)
• Port 3544 (UDP)
• Port 4500 (UDP)

If you're connected to a network through your workplace or school, ask the network administrator to open these ports.

If you can’t hear the person you’re trying to chat with after joining their party, try these tips:

• Check that your privacy settings allow communication with everyone. Press the
  Xbox button to open the guide and select System
  > Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety
  > Xbox Live privacy. Select View details & customize
  > Communication & multiplayer, and then make your changes.
• Unmute or unblock the person you’re trying to chat with. Press the
  Xbox button  to open the guide, and then select
  Multiplayer > Party. Select the party to expand the party roster, choose the person you want to unmute, and select
  Unmute.
• Check that you have joined party chat from within the party window.
  
• See if you’re experiencing network latency or other network issues. To do this, check the detailed network statistics for your network. For more info, see
