Adding parent in family settings

In order for my son to accept friend requests, I think I have to add myself as a parent in family settings. However, when I put in my email and password, it tells me there is a problem and to fix it on the web. I have no idea what the problem is. I was locked out of my Microsoft account and I fixed that. Can someone help?

be sure to check who the parent is of the other child account. because if the parent accnt is not yours you first need to remove that child account from the parent accnt by signing in with the parent account and going into the family settings and removing
him. once removed he should be able to be added to your family. or try using the child accnts parent credentials to add to the family pack.

Have you tried removing him from the parental account first?

Sign in on the parental account. Go to settings > Family (do this from the dashboard, not the guide)

Kid account should show up there. Select it and remove from family.

You'll either be able to try adding them right away or will just need to set the primary account as the parent.

Once you've added the Childs account into your family. You make the changes through the parent account in the family settings. Be sure to sign the profile out then back in so the changes take effect.

Hi Dirican,

You will have to log onto the parent account
add your account to the family. Once added to the family, you then change the settings on your

account through the parent account.
