    Adding Currency To Account

Just added $50 in cards to my account. Came home, and apparently online purchases through Microsoft have tax, unlike ANY other retailer. Either way, I am about $4.00 short on payment for Battlefield 4: Premium. No big deal I thought, I will just add about
$4.00 like I used to when the MS Point system was in place. I was wrong, only option was to use a different payment option COMPLETELY, never mind the $50.00 sitting in the account, the only option I had was to pay fully with my credit card. Is there any way
to add just a few dollars to my MS account without making the twenty minute drive to the nearest store to buy cards for the second time today?

    :)

    PAYPAL Help

At this time, the only way to add currency to your account is to purchase a Microsoft points card and redeem it on your console. Also, wouldn't adding a payment method to add currency to your account be kinda pointless when you could just purchase the content
    with it instead.

Can I combine two gift cards to have the mixed amount?

    Hi there,

when you redeem a currency gift card it will be added on top of your current balance, so if you currently have 0 adding 20 will result in 20 and adding the 50 will result in the total of 70. So that should work just fine. Assuming it's all done in the same
    currency and region.

Also keep in mind that xbox 360 content can only be purchased via the account currency on an actual Xbox 360 console and you should always use your own region and currency to purchase content.

    CAPTAINCUJO,

You don't have to pay fully with your credit card. When you go to purchase content, you will see the full price of the item on the
Confirm Purchase screen (Example: $49.99). You Microsoft Currency will be grayed out. You will need to click Confirm Purchase. The next screen will appear asking: “Do you want to apply the $XX.XX in your Microsoft account toward this purchase, and
charge the rest to your [card_type] ****XXXX
”. If you select No or hit Back, the full amount is charged to the card and the purchase is completed. If you click Yes then the $50.00 will be deducted from your MS account and only the difference will be charged
to your card. This should prevent you from having to go to the store and avoid fully charging the amount to the credit card. Hope this helps!

I tried that and after clicking Confirm Purchase, I was immediately charged. I am now in talks with Microsoft to have my $50.00 refunded, not the $53.XX it cost for the download.

  6. CAPTIANCUJO,

Sorry to hear you had a problem but this is how the process should have worked for you since it is not currently possibly to use the MS Account currency via the xbox.com website at this time. Hopefully the phone support folks can determine where things
went wrong and/or if there are any issues with your account. I know this is no consultation but I have used the process I provided without any issues. Hopefully phone support should be able to get this squared away for you and once again I apologize for any
    inconvenience you might have experienced.

    Cartão Presente[Translation-Gift Card]

    Hi Fuewes,

Thanks for coming to the forums. There are two different currencies. Microsoft has a currency that is added to the Microsoft account only. Then there is also Xbox currency that is added to your Xbox/Microsoft currency. When purchasing Xbox look for the ones
    that say Xbox gift card.

    Thanks,

    Brad
