I appreciate your answer but it didn’t really answer my question if I could add another Microsoft email and have it be my primary if I have a gmail as my primary.

According to Microsoft when you remove an alias it cannot be re-added, added to another account, or recycled. I recommend creating a new alias and adding your account.
