Adding a credit/debit card in Xbox

Hi, I was thinking of adding a credit/debit card for purchasing the Xbox products and I know that the billing address should match the cards address. But does the Microsoft account country/region affect it? for example, if I'm in US and Microsoft account
region is UK.

All to my knowledge you can not add a Debit Crad you can only use a Credit Card. When you try adding the debit card to the account and you are getting the error message BC the system only takes credit cards

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you have question on payment options. Yes this could affect purchases, as the region for the console is UK and the payment option is US. They should match just to cause unwanted issues when making purchases.

if you mean with one of my parents adding a credit/debit card then no, my parents wouldn't put details like that on an xbox
