Adding a alias and getting mail sent to a email that can’t receive mail anymore

So way back when I got my Xbox , my dad set up the domain email under a EarthLink email address. For the longest time I have been trying to change it to my primary email address. I found numerous guides on changing the email for my Xbox but the problem is I need to verify the old account before I can add the new one. The thing is, I have the login to that old email but I can’t access the mail part of the account. I must have had at least 5 different verifications sent to that email address but I can’t see any mail at all. Not even junk mail. Yet it’s weird because the email profile clearly shows that it’s linked to my current Xbox and has all the up to date information there. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated because I am so lost as to what to do. In short? I need to be able to get mail back to the old account so I can add the new alias for the Xbox under the correct email I currently use.
