Add my friends switch Microsoft account on xbox

I was wanting to play with my friend who plays on switch but i cant add his microsoft account when i am on my xbox

He has to add you via email, I'm pretty sure. I'm not a big switch person, but my friend is and that's what they told me.

I have been going round to use my friends xbox to do all of these changes. It has taken me months to get to the final stage.

I got 3 versions on the game. The windows 10 version, I cant add friends. Says go to a website and change privacy settings. (I dont see where this should be a thing, ive had this account since i was 14, am 32 now)

2nd switch, account, when i try to sign into Microsoft account, gives me code, i go to website type in code, website says "all done". On switch i try to sign into Microsoft again. Gives me code again. This is endless loop.

3r switch account isnt able to add friends. Just like my account. The 3rd switch IS connected to Microsoft.

The Switch and Xbox have different types of friend's lists, so you won't be able to add his Nintendo account on Xbox and vice versa. If he has a Microsoft account for games like Minecraft, then he should have a gamertag associated with that and you can add that.

Thank you Diego,unfortunately that doesn't help. I did everything listed and there is no option to allow my son to add friends. When I try to add friends on his account it says I need to manage the privacy settings. When I try to modify the privacy settings
there is no option there for turning on or off the ability to add friends. This is becoming quite frustrating. The only options are to add money to his account, modify the time he is allowed, restrict website access (I even tried this option just in case-did
not work). There is nothing, I have clicked every single option on my microsoft account, our xbox 360, his nintendo switch.. there is NO option to modify if he can add friends or not.
