    Acquire 360 Backward Compatibility games on your Xbox One


    ok im sick and tierd of trying to download the free xbox 360 games on my xbox one as it keeps asking me for a credit card even tho i have gold and the game is ment to be free but i dont get any other option i dont own or have a debit/credit card so i carnt
    even get the free games even tho i have paid for my gold membership i have no problem getting the xbox one free game's each month its just the 360 is there any other way of been able to get them even tho i own most of the 360 games on disc just be easy to
    get them on digital as then i dont have to keep changing discs lol

    Acquire 360 Backward Compatibility games on your Xbox One

    Hello Knutsinnit,

    If you use an actual Xbox 360 console you can circumvent the need to have a payment method on file and you will be able to add the Xbox 360 games to your Library, after which you can download the games on Xbox One through My Games & Apps.

    hi and thanx i was doin it that way untill my xbox 360 broke and i dont have the money to go buy a new one Acquire 360 Backward Compatibility games on your Xbox One :( why i was asking why isnt there any other way round the payment option even tho i normaly have credit on my account as im always buyn games or add

    It's because of the transition away from MS Points years ago - the Xbox 360 web marketplace was never updated to be compatible with local currencies, so that marketplace doesn't "see" the currency stored on your account, thus it deems you don't have a valid
    payment method. This is why to purchase Xbox 360 games on the web marketplace (or an Xbox One) you need either a debit/credit card or PayPal account on file.

    If you tied a debit/credit card or PayPal account to your Microsoft Account (though I can totally understand valid reasons for not wanting to do this), you will be able to "purchase" the free Xbox 360 games.

    If it's backwards compatible it would only be available on the Xbox One as a backwards compatible game. Not on the 360
    There are backwards compatible games available for the 360. Black is one of them.
