Achievements were not unlocking while playing backwards compatibility - how I fixed it

I would like a space to share my experience in the hope that it may be able to help others.

A couple months back I was playing through the Gears of War games using backwards compatibility on the Xbox One. I was playing with a partner in a co-op split screen session. Everything had been working fine until one day my account quit receiving achievements.
We were playing Gears of War 3 and he continued to get achievements while I did not. I contacted Xbox Support and was advised to try a hard reset, redownloading my gamer profile, trying other backwards compatible titles - all decent enough suggestions, however
here's what I found that ended up working.

I did the hard reset - no changes

I deleted and recovered my profile on the Xbox one - no changes.

I probably tried a good number of other things that didn't really seem to matter... but then..

I noticed when I brought up the 360 guide while in emulation mode on the xbox one as the other user, they had a gamer score and everything looked as you'd expect. However, when I brought up the 360 guide for my account, my gamer score reported 0. I also
couldn't connect to Xbox live, and attempting to connect would take me out of emulation and to the xbox one connection settings.

I went back into emulation mode on the xbox one, and I decided to try to recover my account there. ... And it worked. Fixed my problem. Instantly, I noticed that my gamer score now displayed and no longer was I disconnected from Live while in emulation.
And when I tried playing again, achievements unlocked as they had before.

Anyone that's unsure of how to do this, while on the xbox one in emulation mode (start a backwards compatible game), if you press the two small buttons (one with the squares, and one with the lines) it'll bring up the 360 guide. Once the guide is up, you
would want to log out (if you are logged in) and then select 'Download Profile' (I believe that's what it's called). Follow the prompts, and wait for the download to complete.

IMPORTANT: Always properly exit 360 titles while playing backwards compatibility! Even if you're just loading a game to test something out, when you're finished testing make sure you exit out of the game properly. Someone else wants to play? Make sure you
exit your current session before logging them in.

Achievement issues

I am playing forza horizon on xboxone with backward compatibility, while playing the game i unlocked 20 achievements but when i check the xone’s achievements menu it says that i unlocked only 8 of them

Anyone knows how to solve this problem?

 

Backward compatibility problem

Hi! I have some problem with backward compatibility. My achievement from Xbox 360 are not displayed on Xbox one ( when I play game for Xbox360 on Xbox one.)I get achievement while I playing with backward compatibility,but they not displayed on my 'G score'.
It's spoil all my joy about games. Please fix it
