Achievements suddenly changed language to Japanese

Surely frustrating, in theory the solution to the problem you are experiencing is quite simple. When installing a language pack in Windows, it changes the display language
of certain applications, but not the system in general. This means that even if you have the display language of your system configured to English, applications that use
the installed language pack will display their content in the language of the pack.

In your case, the Japanese language pack is changing the display language of Windows and Xbox apps. To fix this problem, you need to uninstall the Japanese language pack.
Once you have done this, all apps will return to displaying their content in the display language of your system, which in your case is English.

I have the same problem. I have Japanese installed as a second language, but English is still my default. The only thing that seems to show up in Japanese is achievement names. Everything else is in English like it should be.

Uninstalling the second language fixes it, but as soon as it's reinstalled the problem comes back.

I can understand it either way of course, but it's still a weird error.

change your xbox region and language to english, so choose a primarily english country region like the USA or england and try downloading from there.

My friend lives here in the USA but every now and again sets it to japan and downloads japanese language games. (she speaks Japanese as a second language and playing the games help her from forgeting lol)

Hi, my brother was playing on my xbox 360 account and changed the language to something like Chinese or Japanese. I don't know how to change it back. I went to language and locale and they are English and United states but they are still a foreign language.
What do I do??????

Try to temperarily change your region settings to an english language region.

My friend had an american bought xbox but set his region to japan and can download japanese language games.
