Achievement question

I'm one of the many that have achievements not popping. I keep seeing where they are supposedly fixed and pop after awhile. But do they pop after you've been playing the game after awhile or will they just be corrected on their own without playing the
game? I'm currently waiting on 2 for tomb raider.

Hey mate, based on the below nugget of information, I would say that it immediately registers that it unlocked, so I don't think you should have to boot the game up, but I guess it couldn't hurt.

Achievements don’t unlock instantly when you complete them.

In some instances, you may meet the requirements to unlock an achievement but not immediately receive a notice or update to your gamerscore. The Xbox Live service validates the unlocking of achievements and, though rare, delays can occur. Don’t worry – your
progress has been recorded and the achievement will be awarded shortly, usually in less than 24 hours.

There is a huge issue with achievements right now. They haven't fixed this for over a week now

 

Well I completed tomb raider on Thursday and still don't have the achievement. I've been firing up the game once a day but still not getting it. I it brave last night and tried crimson dragon and had no problem with achievements there.

 

And lance, I had read in a few other forums that they had fixed it. Guess not.

 

So I played tomb raider again last night and got another achievement to pop. But still missing the 2 I should of gotten last Thursday.

 

Hey guys! Sorry to see that you're still having achievement issues! To clarify, what was resolved last week was the achievement progress not tracking.

Right now, we are currently working on getting achievements popping properly for you all. Normally, you don't need to do any troubleshooting other than wait for 24-48 hours. It's taking a little bit longer currently, but rest assured that we are working
on it and your stats are safe. Once this is fixed, you should see your achievements pop with the correct date.

Thursday night I fired up tomb raider and immediately checked my cheevos and the two I was missing finally showed up. But for me I had to start the game. The achievements were not there before I started the game.
