Account still blocked after resetting password

Since you cannot log in because your account was locked for multiple login attempts, I recommend that you complete the account recovery form, that way you will submit a ticket to the Microsoft account recovery team.

There, you must enter some information that is required to verify if you are the main owner of the account. If you had a phone number attached to the account, you can also use it. Unfortunately, an account cannot be recovered with little data.

Yes, right now the only way to cancel a subscription is sign in with the account that owns it.

I can advise you keep trying with the recovery form (and fill it with different info on the second try) until it gets accepted by Microsoft account recovery team

In the meantime I think the best option would be freeze/block the card asking it to your financial institution, in that way your dad is not going to be charged next month and keep it in that way until you're able to recover the account

if your wlid is hotmail or live and its blocked then yes. you're password is not going to work on the xbox. if your account is anything else then you may have forgotten the password and you should click on forgot my password on live.com or xbox.com and follow
the promps for getting it reset, if you have access to the email. if not then try going to windowslivehelp.com/passwordreset.aspx fill out the form and get the password reset through that. after you get the password reset you should be able to then swap out
the wlid on your GT
