account revered to child account

My son is 24.

When he signed into his Xbox today, he got a pop-up saying it was a child account. How can he be an adult yesterday, but a child today??

How can this be put right? His birthdate is showing correctly.

Yes.

Among others he cannot play Minecraft multiplayer or Realms.

Hi there welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Is he having difficulties accessing his games due to this?

In answer to my own question, I had to sign in to the Xbox, remove my son from my family group, and then add him back again.

Hope this is of help to anybody else that has this happen to them.

Unfortunately, it has not re-enabled Minecraft multiplayer or Realms, and Minecraft marketplace is disabled.

His Gold subscription is active.

We have checked settings in https://account.xbox/en-gb/settings and he is set to allow EVERYTHING

It's back to normal now.

OKAYYY. The complete solution to this:

1: remove account from Family group

2: add account back to family group

3: go to account settings (link above for UK users )

4: click "Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices safety online"

5: check everything in list is set to Allow, then click the Submit button

6: Turn off the console, and remove the power plug for 10 seconds.

7: Plug in and turn the console on. Everything should now be back to normal

Does your account region match your physical region ?

If not that would be why as both are region locked
