    I have used the same Microsoft account for years... to be exact, it is still a Hotmail account, just to timestamp the years this account has been around.

    I have not used the Hotmail email address in years, but have used the Xbox account (connected to this email/Microsoft account) nearly every day for years.

    Everything has been fine, until the next day (It's been about 2 weeks now) when suddenly upon turning on my Xbox, I was prompted to enter my password for the account.

    I entered the correct password, then I was directed to have a verification code sent to a phone number. A Phone number I no longer have access to.

    I filled out the Account Recovery forms, as prompted by selecting "I don't have this number anymore".

    I filled out the daily maximum of two forms.

    They were immediately, within 30 seconds of submission, declined stating that my information was "not sufficient".

    Here's my issue:

    I HAVE ALL THE INFORMATON TO VERIFY WHO I AM

    Account Email

    Account Password

    The full phone number (that I no longer have access to)

    The payment/card info for purchases on the account

    The Xbox Device ID

    The Xbox Live ID

    The name on the account

    The address the account was created

    The gamer Tag

    I just do not have access to the verification phone number anymore

    I made this Microsoft account to contact support.

    I have talked to someone different more than ten times.

    Some reps have had me submit the account recovery form again and again - I've submitted this form 6 times, with the same result.

    One rep (claiming to be a supervisor) told me the only thing I can do is gain access to that old phone number... Well, I went so far as to contact the phone provider and ultimately since the phone number was deactivated for over a year, this was not a possibility.

    Another rep said we could manually verify my information (which we did, including him naming off different credit card numbers I had used on the account before I could give him those numbers myself). He said had escalated my case and tech support would update the verification phone number within 72 hours and I may or may not receive a call for additional info. He said there was nothing for me to follow up on or anything - just wait for them to fix it all.

    Well, I waited a week.. nothing.

    I spoke to another rep today who explained that the last rep I spoke to had lied and they were unable to do this.

    I, once again, went through everything with this rep who sent me an Account Reinstatement form.

    I filled this form out with her on the line. We went over what to include and even included additional info.

    I was told this could take up to 72 hours and I would receive a follow up email etc.

    Well, same as the recovery form, within 30 seconds of hanging up with this rep I received an email telling me:

    "Unfortunately, we are unable to assist with your issue related to the phone number for your account"

    I was then given a link to FAQ about phone numbers on account... not helpful

    I was given a link to Microsoft Support... Which put me back in the same place I was, because you better believe I requested another call.

    I explained everything up to that point to this new rep, who then told me, that they couldn't help and when I asked who I could speak to or request a call/email from he told me there was no direct line or way to contact someone regarding this issue, he then told me: "I will look into this for you. Please hold for 3-5 minutes while I look into this."

    At that point I guess he forgot to put me on mute or put me on actual HOLD with the waiting music etc., because all I heard for over ten minutes was a sea of voices of other Xbox support reps screaming, singing, making noise. I loudly announced, "I think you forgot to put me on mute, it's loud over there!". They then hung up on me.

    I have been unable to request another call.

    I just want to get into my account to play the Xbox I paid for, the games I paid for (on the Microsoft store...), using the subscription I pay for.

    I lost everything on that account since I can't get back in.

    I keep being directed to Xbox/Microsoft support who, as admitted, straight up lie to me then direct me back to the same process.

    I don't want to spend all this time on the phone.

    I don't want to spend all this time filling out the same form over and over again.

    I don't want to spend all this time recapping the same story and information over and over again.

    I know Xbox support doesn't want to either - They've lied to get me off the phone, they've "put me on hold" just to never come back, they've hung up on me.

    This isn't right.

    What can I do, and why won't any one help me.

    That’s a b*llsh*t response.

    Also, Microsoft support has not attempted to help me.

    They’ve lied, hung up on me, etc.

    They have not provided any help that wasn’t available via FAQ or ChatBots.

    All the information they have provided, I had attempted before calling for help.

    The rep I am currently on the phone with (I made a 3rd account with another phone number just to be able to speak with someone) is telling me they do not have the “scope-of-support” to help in this situation.

    So what I’m asking at this point is for this to be escalated - this is clearly not a typical Microsoft issue or user error.

    Hello kc c, my name is Vanessa, I am an independent Microsoft consultant.

    Reading everything you have written and seeing that you have tried everything, even Microsoft support has given you help to try to recover your account and you still have not been able to recover it, I understand since I have been through it before, I won't go into details but I understand you, therefore the support has done everything possible to help you and as I understand it they are not authorized to recover an account directly, that is why there is the account recovery form and seeing that you have filled it out several times without any result, it means that unfortunately your account can no longer be recovered. I'm really sorry for you.

    Ok, but you did that trough the button on the link? As it mentions account recovery not account unlock, when you receive this information is when a recovery form is filled, have you select that the account is blocked on the reinstatement account form?

    You can also contact Microsoft support for further information and instructions about how to proceed

    Thank you for your response, Alex! It seems you are referring to the account recovery web form.

    The reinstatement process request allows you to unlock a Microsoft account that is locked due to suspicious activity if the request was approved by Microsoft:

    If you're trying to recover your account as you have no longer access to it, I'm afraid the only best option would be through the account recovery web form.

    Since you mentioned your account is locked, I suggest you try to submit the reinstatement form to unlock the account first, then once it's done, submit a request via the account recovery web form:
