Account messaging

Whenever i try to message someone on my xbox account i get a message saying that messaging isnt working on my account and to go to https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/xbox-live/cant-send-messages : ive added a pn to my account and messaging worked
for a little while and no it isnt working again. If anyone can find a fix it would be greatly appreciated.

It may be that there is something blocking your account on an account level rather than technical.

Make sure that no one has access to your account or could have changed settings to prevent outgoing messages.

Check security and privacy settings at login.live.com

Be certain that there is nothing like a family account or parental controls preventing you.

Try performing a hard reset as mentioned by a fellow Ambassador -(Parity)

After doing so and with no success you may want to contact xbox customer support for further assistance so that they can look at the account and determine if it is something else perhaps with the account itself.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

If you visit enforcement.xbox.com you should see whether you have any current Enforcement actions against your account.

Check the email account that is attached to your account, if you have received a ban you should have received an email in that account. You can also check the Enforcement Team page,
https://enforcement.xbox.com/Enforcement/ShowEnforcements, log in there and see if there are any enforcement active against your account.
