    Short version: Account has been locked, no support recieved.

    Long version:

    2 weeks ago, playing xbox no issues in the evening.

    Next morning, xbox says issue with account and to go online to sort it

    *Square one*I go online, it says the account is locked - put in a phone number to recieve a code to appeal. It then says this service is unavailable, try another. Does not give the option to try another.

    I go on the automated chat, get the callback option, this attempted numerous times to the point I can no longer get calls from the number.

    They tell me to fill in various forms - compliance lock, account recovery, account reinstatement, with the assurance it will be unlocked and then further steps can be done to verify.

    I recieve multiple emails (due to multiple requests over the days) from CDOC. Most of these are generic, tell me to go support (which is how I got to them in the first place). One of the replies tells me a different thing to try, though the instructions for one don't match up with what the link does - resets the password and takes me back to Square one.

    They ask me to input a 9 digit code I recieved from filling in the previously mentioned forms - no such code has been given.

    The email also says to provide information to verify I am the account owner, which seems a positive step - I reply to the email with the requested information.

    I then recieve a generic response telling me to go back to Square one, or to go to support to get more help. Again, that was the process that brought me to CDOC in the first place.

    I am at a complete loss. CDOC appear to either be severely incompetent at their jobs, or it is an automated service with generic replies.

    At the same time my xbox was locked, my Netflix was hacked. I sorted the Netflix account in 1 phone call in 15 minutes. It absolutely baffles me that a multi billion dollar company like Microsoft doesn't have the same process.

    So, perhaps complaints procedure? Guess what, automated response via the phone that won't allow it.

    If anyone has any advice at all, I would appreciate it. Or if there is an actual Microsoft tech that can help, call me and sort this out as easy as Netflix have, that would be fantastic. At present, all my purchases, saved data etc are behind a locked account (which I have not even been given a reason why it has been locked - my assumption is due to it being hacked and something going on there), the process has gone round in circles with next to no useful human or otherwise input.

    Hello,

    As already stated, I have tried all those steps. Multiple times. What I need is an actual person to talk to on the phone, one of the people that actually has the authority to unlock the account.

    Customer service has been frankly woeful.

    The only option you'd have there is to go through the contact settings at the Support page.

    Hello Sam, sorry to hear you're having trouble.

    As much as I wish there was something we could do to help here I'm afraid that we cannot as this is an open forum. However, please read through this post https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com... with some helpful information about recovering your account.

    Okay, so the email that's receiving the security codes.. is it a Hotmail, Live, or Outlook email by any chance? If so, you'll need to sign out of that account after you retrieve the code, then sign back into the account you're trying to cancel. When it
    wants to send you another code, there should be a link that says "I have a code". Use the code you've already got there. If it doesn't give you that option, have it send you a new code, but enter the old one anyways, should work all the same.

    Thanks Sandy. Although it says it’s installed, none of the Skins etc are available. They all still say locked and have the padlock synbol.

    i cant see how to request a refund to a childs account either - just seem to be going round in circles!
