In a couple of weeks i'll be buying an Xbox One. While trying to access my old account that I had on the 360 I had forgotten the password. Alot has changed since I even had the 360 it's been sold I have moved to a different state and also got a new phone
number. When trying to recover the account I have no access to the old number. So I can't get ahold of a security code. If I go through the recovery with an alternate email and answer questions. I can only answer so many since I never really used the email
attached to the account in a traditional way. However each time it fails. I really have no clue on how I can try to get the account back and I don't want to resort to making a brand new account.

Dude, that sucks . I've met a lot of people that had compromised accounts had to help my cuz when his account was.

 

I'd recommend reaching out to Official Support at support.xbox.com/contact-us . They would be best suited to try and verify your identity and recover your account.

Are you trying to log into your account on an Xbox 360? If so you might need to use an App Password to access it: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12409/microsoft-account-app-passwords-two-step-verification but that would require access to your
account. I'd definitely try to access the account via account.microsoft.com

But your best bet overall is reaching out to Official Support, who will have access to the best tools to assist you.
