Here's how to contact Xbox Support:

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives a request for a call from support as a contact option.

It wouldn't.matter if they switched your password recovery email

The asr goes by the original info on the account which can't be changed

And MS accounts can't be changed only your alias

Do you know what the email was at least? If you know the email but not the password you will want to use
this form to recover the account.

The ASCS form will ask you to provide a working Email address. What your dad needs to recover is the password for the MSA and not for the Email. The ACSR link once verified will give you the reset instructions to the working email that you have access to.
