Account-email issues

Hi there,

So we got new Xbox X, and we never had accounts with it so it was all new. I've set up account for child with her Gmail but there was some issues and I got on phone with Xbox support but for some reason they went easy way around it and made new outlook email for her account. This is a bit of issue as I can't connect it to Family Link app and have all under same control. She has games and pass on this account so can't just delete it.

So what's the best way to replace emails and have her account with gmail, it won't let me add it as spare email as it's already used for previous account.

Yes we have Xbox accounts with the two of the emails.

If that’s correct, may I know if you have created a Microsoft account for both the spare email and the current gmail address?

First, it is important to ask that please refrain from sharing personal information, including email addresses, gamertags, etc.

As community users, we are not able to enter or check your account information, and everything we comment can be seen by anyone on the internet.

That being said, I'm sorry to say, but it is not possible to transfer any kind of content between Microsoft accounts. Therefore, it is not possible to do what you are asking for.

Additionally, it is not possible to add an email address that's already associated with another Microsoft account.
Probably the error you receive is due to the email you're entering is already associated with the new account your created for your son.

“You can't add an email address that's associated with a work or school account as an alias.

An alias or email address can only contain letters, numbers, dot (.), underscore (_) or dash/hyphen (-). Spaces and other special characters aren't allowed.

Existing Hotmail, Live, Outlook.com, and MSN addresses can't be added as aliases, and you can't add an alias that is already associated with another Microsoft account.”

However, what you can do if you no longer need the email address associated with your Microsoft account is creating a new alias/email for your son and then enable it as a new way to sign in.

Actually, you can add a new email address to your daughter’s account. However, this email doesn’t need to be linked to a different Microsoft account. So you may need to create a new one or delete the Microsoft account that doesn’t have the games purchased.

I am 90% sure I don't have a Phone Number or Alternate Email Sent up with the account because I didn't have Xbox Live Gold for very long. I have contacted Xbox about the issue before, but the issue is never resolved, my friend had contacted Xbox Support
about and account issue where he put gmal instead of gmail on his email address and didn't have his problem resolved either. I will try contacting them again because it has been a few years sense I had contacted them last.
