Account Currency Disappeared. How do I get it back?

In February 2015 after Warface went offline, I got a $40.75 credit. I spent $4.94 for NBA Jam and should still have ~$35, but it's gone now. I called Xbox customer service, and they said they can't refund it but told me to post here. I never received
any notification about funds disappearing, but they are gone now. The representative on the phone said that you guys at the forums can refund points, but they can't do it on the phone. How do we go about this?

Its not a glitch you don't understand how the currency system works

Regardless of a compromise your us currency will stay us currency even if they migrated to the uae

The only way to get a uae currency is to buy a uae currency card or have a uae creditcard

You can actually screenshot it

If you'd want however as stated there is no way to get foreign currency cards on a local account except thru the prepaid currency cards

Your account region maybe us but you can enter foreign currency cards on this website

If you do it won't show up on the us account it will only show on the commerce.microsoft.com as foreign currency

Did you buy a prepaid currency card ? Or did you do it as a creditcard purchase

If it was a prepaidcard then you need to check with the source

 

The currency on the account has an expiration date.

"$5 expires on 9/12/2016" You can check whenever the currency expires,
here.

 

Unfortunately what you were told is untrue - we on the forums are not able to refund currency to Microsoft Accounts.

You can however check your account's balance and transactional history, including whether any of the currency was "promotional" and therefore expired, at the link Otaku provided, or here:
