Account Alias changed, Now my xbox doesn't work

Hi,

So I changed my account aliases and made another account @outlook.com my primary and my old @hotmail.co.uk not my primary.

First issue, I wasn't able to untick and make the @hotmail.co.uk not useable as a login option. Kept telling me there is a service issue.

Second issue, I logged into my xbox this morning and nothing is working keeps telling me "that didn't work". I load the store, "that didn't work"

So i changed it all back to my @hotmail.co.uk account and unticked the @outlook.com account so only my @hotmail.co.uk could be used to log in with.

Still nothing is working, my xcloud, and also my xbox.

When you make changes like this it can take some time to sync across all systems. My advise is to log out of everything that uses that account and on PC/Phones clear browser resent history (cache). Browsers can sometimes hold a session cookie that doesn't
expire straight away.

In some way it works . I changed alias and disconnect many time from the app and now with the alias it connect me on the regular account . Thank you

I think I found a solution...

I changed my primary Microsoft Account alias to another address and changed it back to the original one after that.

Then I tried to download my account on my Xbox 360 and then it worked.

Im not 100% sure if the primary alias changing fixed my problem, but may you can give it a try when you have the same problem.

Hi, that doesn't solve my problem. I don't need to change the email address I use to login to my Microsoft account, I only have one primary alias for this
[Mod Removed - PII].

My Xbox Live account has the email address [Mod Removed - PII] assigned to it (this was a previous Microsoft account primary alias and cannot be used since it no longer exists) .

I need to remove [Mod Removed - PII] from my Xbox Live account and assign my Microsoft account primary alias [Mod Removed - PII] to it.

Hope that makes sense?

If I got it right, then it is not possible. The xbox live and the Microsoft acounts are basically 2 separate Microsoft accounts and you cannot have the same email associated to two different accounts. At the same time you cannot merge two accounts so
if you want to keep the one you call your Microsoft account as it is now, the best thing to do is probably to just add a new and working alias to the other account and then remove the old alias leaving the two account separated but with valid emails.

asking a friend I knew that on xbox 360 you have the possibility to change email account management, but I was not able to tell if it works or is disabled. my question now is if I do this change of email from xbox 360 what happens? Does the procedure block
me or should an alias change be made? or is it a way to curb the problem?
