Account access help after application was rejected?

Trying to help my husband recover microsoft account for his xbox profile, when he no longer has the email or phone that was 2-step verified. He created it when we were younger. We have access to it on console but he was recently gifted the pass for his tablet/computer and can't access the account.

The application was recently rejected and I'm going through it over and over but can't find anything really that might be wrong with the info. He remembered the security question, maybe not how it should be written out like with caps or lower case, but knew the answer.

Remembered older passwords. We did put on the 1st try "yes" to buying things but never used credit or debit cards. We used to buy the points/money cards. All we really want to do is change the account to his new and current email or even one of mine that isn't connected to a microsoft account yet. As far as we are aware no credit card number should be on his account and so I skipped that fill-in portion on the 1st application. The only other problem I can think that might be wrong is that the Xbox console ID might be wrong? He has been using mine as a primary Xbox since we have gotten rid of older ones. So I'm using the One X and his application asks for the Xbox one ID.

I am sorry to hear about what happened. Let's see what we can do about this matter here. Just a heads up, since this is a forum, we don't have access to your account here and even a Microsoft Support cannot recover our accounts on our behalf because it should only be done by the owner of the account only.

I just want to confirm, your husband's account has two-step verification setup on it? If so, the account recovery form won't work with the account where two-step verification is enabled. It is because the user itself added a new layer of security in accessing his account. No one will be able to access it unless your husband can verify it using one of the information he put on his two-step verification details.

The best option here is for you to recover first one of his security information on his two-step verification details so you can get back into his account.

Hi John,

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We see you have issue with a hacked account. As the security information has been changed you will fail every form. You will need to request a call from support to assist you in this matter.

When you go to Contact Us,follow these steps to request a call from support:

Step 1 ----click on Contact us
Step 2 ----under what you having trouble with select Subscriptions & billing
Step 3-----under what is the issue I can't redeem a code then hit next

Step 4 ----scroll down to select request a call

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives request a call from support as a contact option.
