Accidentally created a new Live account, and now can't remove my email from it.

Hello,

So, I tried to set a new email alias for my old Xbox Live account, but it seems that I accidentally created a new Xbox Live account instead. It appears that since I used an outlook.com email address, I can no longer remove that email from the new account.
Removing it will cause it to be deleted.

And, since that email is now in use, I can't add it to my old account.

I don't care at all about the new Xbox Live account, I'm fine if that were deleted, but I'm not fine with deleting my email address.

Does anyone know of a way to disassociate my outlook.com email address from Xbox Live so that I can apply it to my new account?

Edit: I tried contacting Microsoft support via chat, where the end result was almost "go ahead and press "ok" when it says your email address will be permanently deleted." Then the chat was soon disconnected. I would love to be able to escalate this or explain
in an email for them to look into, but I can't find an option for this anywhere.

Thank you for the suggestion, but this is what myself and Microsoft/Xbox technical support tried over chat. Because the email address I want to remove is an outlook.com address, removing it from Xbox Live would also permanently delete the email address itself.

Hi there,

You have to add a new alias first, and after you'll' be able to remove the alias that you don't want to use anymore and add it back to your other account.

Unfortunately there is no way to do this without it deleting your outlook account if you go any further in the steps it will delete that outlook account and you will NEVER be able to get it back.

How do I completely remove an email address from a Microsoft account that I accidentally created a long time ago, its not used for anything? I want to use that email address to sign in to my actual Xbox Live account, and then how do I change the email sign
on on the account i want to use it for?

My email address was connected to a different account. I switched the emails connected to that account. I then created my new gamertag from the email I disconnected from that account and created my new account. I then went back and closed the extra account
and now I can't log into my new account. Can anyone help?
