    Accessories and Overlay Menu are bugged


    Got a wireless controller today and had a few hours of use to "break it in". Though, while in a game, the controller works just fine. But if I open the overlay menu, the selection keeps navigating to the right. If I click on anything (it usually doesn't let me click anything before it moves again), it will just move back over to the Settings button.

    Same thing happens with the accessories application. As soon as I power on my controller and it shows up in the app, it moves to the right and only lets me click "Help" under Connect a device. Even if I turn off the controller, it still forces to the right (same thing in the overlay). I can't configure the controller. I looked multiple places online and couldn't find anything similar in other posts.

    Then unfortunately it seems the best option here is to contact Xbox. This might be a hardware issue!

    Solved:

    Computer needed a restart/reboot. Menus in both app seem to work fine now.

    Can I try what:

    Restarting? I already did.

    Reinstalling? I don't see the point since it was installed the same day I got the controller, so it would have been the most up-to-date version.

    No I didn't because the app was literally just installed and the overlay menu has never had a problem before the controller was connected.
