Accessability: all sides invertable

Another accessibility question. When in third person mode I usually think in terms of my first third person behind the back game I played which is Super Mario 64.

In that game you told Lakitu, your cameraman, where to go to point. So the right stick, or the C arrow buttons as they were called originally on the N64, told the camera man which way to go: up to raise altitude down to bring it closer to your level left to bring them over your left shoulder and right to bring them over your right shoulder.

However I don't see that option in a lot of games that have third person behind the back perspective. Heck even Nintendo forgot that on legend of Zelda breath of the Wild because when you inverse the right stick to make it like a two cam all the motion controls are totally off whack and I can't find a way to unmarry them but that's a Nintendo issue.

Back to the Xbox problem, quite a few games only have flip y axis of the right stick but not x axis.

I thought the whole point of these OS based controller adjustments was so that you don't have to rely on individual game publishers and programmers / developers programming them on their own.

What good is a system OS that cannot let you flip x and flip y for either stick?

Another reason why you might want to flip X and flip y: if you want right handed play on a fight stick. If it are fighting game only the analog stick could be used, and not the digital dpad, there would be no way to 180 to stick and play with right hand stick in fighting games.

Currently if you could control the fighters with the digital controller on a pad then in theory you could remap North to be South and South to be North and likewise flip east and west. And swap punches with kicks. And if the contour will write in both directions instant ambidextrous fightstick.

Also there are games like Zaxxon when I was a little kid I always confused up and down because the game inverted up and down, emulating first person cockpit controls not third person isometric controls relative to your camera position.
