    AC 3 Digital Game Region Locked?


    hello. I wanted to buy AC 3 in the Xbox Store using my xbox 360 and it prompts me an error code 80150017 is this some kind of a region locked game? I have a US acct and NTSC-J console but not physically in US right now. so do I have to be physically in US
    just to purchase the game? or can I just buy the game online
    www.xbox.com     and download it to my xbox 360? if I do that will I not encounter any problems in the future like not allowing me to play or download the game. thank you.

    Backwards compatible games & region

    Strange my fallout4 game was brought from a different region and my fallout 3 code redeemed fine. I was under the impression digital has no region coding

    Since Far Cry 3 is region locked, you would not be able to purchase it digitally. You would need to purchase it on disc. A lot of 360 games like that were region locked and can only be downloaded if your account region matches your physical location and
    you have to be in a region where the game is available.

    Games are usually not region locked. Only limitation is that you cannot buy digital purchases on a different marketplace then the one of your country as you need proper payment and billing informations on your account for purchases.

    1. There is no region lock on games usually so you will not enocuter problems.

    2. Multiplayer games have worldwide access to servers and are not region locked or limitated to local servers.

    3. There are different offers on the different marketplaces of course as there are also region only apps and services available, especially in the movie and tv sector. Also there is the above explained limitation on digital purchases.
