    absolutely no idea why my xbox live (xbox game pass core) isn’t working


    my brother has been playing the game all day, he has played cod cold war zombies and the walking dead, and minecraft. i try to play and then now it’s saying that’s i’m not connected to the internet or that my account is retricted? neither is true.

    Hi,

    Xbox Live has not shut down, it's changed its name from Gold to Game Pass Core. Core is the basic Xbox Live system, while Ultimate is the more expensive tier.

    To play online you need Game Pass Core. Old Xbox Live codes still work and will be automatically converted to Core.

    Are you saying you have payed for Game Pass Core? If so, then Game Pass Core does not get released until September, which is why you cannot play Forza Horizon 4. It's still Xbox Live Gold. The games you would get as part of Game Pass Core are not availble yet to you until September.

    Does Xbox Game Pass Core appears active in your subscriptions page instead of Xbox Live Gold?

    Microsoft announced a couple of months ago that Xbox Live Gold is going to be converted into Game Pass Core.
    If you renewed the subscription, you should be able to see Game Pass Core instead.
