So, if I understood well as soon as you connect your console to your phone hotspot. The system ask you to install an update but the update fails?

If that's the case please try first performing an offline update for your console. In that way Xbox system will be installed/updated from scratch.

Hey yes I'm trying hook to my home wifi n no its not hiding n still no luck to trying set up my Xbox one but it's not letting me hook to my wifi

Yes I can hotspot off phone but even I hotspot when the updates getting done it has got half way then started from the start again

May I know if you already tried power cycling your console?

1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.
Also disconnect your router from power for about 3 minutes. Then connect it again an when everything is working, try again

And, if you try sharing mobile data via wifi hotspot, your console detect that network and is able to connect to your phone in that way?

May I know if your SSID is hidden?

If not, please try looking in all the results. In some cases the Xbox order the wifi networks alphabetically
