A Solution To Manage Quick Resume

Hi your going to delete the quick resume files on Fortnite

• Click the home button restart the console if needed select my games and apps.
  
• Select see all you're going to delete your quick resume file for this game its usually 1.0 GB file.
  
• highlight the Fortnite game app do not open it.
  
• select manage game and click saved data quick start resume this allow start up past the seasonal starting video.
  
• Delete all quick resume files these will be replaced with files that are not corrupted.
  
• go back to the home screen and start the game it should reboot to start of season no harm will be done to your inventory.
  

If you delete games from your quick resume list they reappear so it doesn't stop thr problems. I want to be able to shut it off completely.

disabling quick resume is currently being explored, but may not be possible as it is tied into every system on the Xbox, there is no news on a timetable, and if and when it happens, it will be announced via Xbox social media likely in conjunction with a major OS update

As I mentioned, if you want to submit a feedback for the Xbox team to remove the quick resume feature or to have an option to complete turn it off, please use the Feedback Hub app. There is no way to completely turn it off right now.

but not at the cost of putting extra ware on my TV or Xbox...

There wouldn't be any ware on your TV.

Such a system would put ware on your Xbox storage, but over a significant time period. How much ware we do not yet know, there is only a finite amount of time data can be stored to an SSD. However, SSD drives do utilise a technique called 'ware levelling' where the data is arranged so that write/erase cycles are distributed evenly among all of the 'blocks' that make up the storage in the drive. Even with this, Solid State drives are far more reliable than old mechanical platter drives.

Until there is any changes to how quick resume works, the only way to prevent it is to close your game down when finished. This prevents the console from saving a suspended snapshot or 'save state'. Thus, the next time you load the game it boots to its main menu.
