    I have heard that Microsoft is shutting down support for the Xbox 360 storefront, and I am simply wondering. How come Microsoft is planning on shutting down servers for the Xbox 360 storefront? Please let me know.

    Because it's an old service. It's similar to when they shut down for the origibal Xbox.

    The storefront is not being shut down, Merely the ability to purchase things turned off.

    Maintaining credit card security certification is extremely time-consuming and expensive and very likely no longer is paying for itself. Everything will be the same except the ability to purchase things. You can still purchase backwards compatible games through the Xbox one/series store but they won't transfer to 360
