A question about getting save data from 360 version to the one

Pretty sure it will be saved in rockstars cloud, so you won't need to have access to a 360

Did you move your save file from the Xbox 360's local hard drive to Cloud Storage? If you want to have all your progress from the 360 version you have to move the save file to Cloud Storage so that the Xbox One version can sync with that data.

Probably you can delete the current save data you have on you Xbox One, then, go to your 360 and move your original save data to Cloud Storage and finally start Gears of War 3 on your Xbox One again, you should see a message and a progress bar saying "Syncing
Cloud Storage" or something like that.

Thanks for coming to the forums with your question on save data. If the console is an Xbox one all save data is automatically

saved to the cloud. Once you launch the game again it will get the save from the cloud by saying (syncing data for (name of game)).

If the console is an Xbox 360 and you enabled cloud saves then it will work same as Xbox one. If you haven't enabled cloud save, it will delete it completely.

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are inquiring about transferable content for games across the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One.

No, your save data will not transfer over, as they are two different version. Unless that game includes a feature by the developers to import your save data to the Xbox One version of this game, then you would be unable to pick up where you left off in the
Xbox 360 version.

Additionally since they are two separate versions, any DLC you purchase for the Xbox 360 version will be unusable on the Xbox One version.

Kayden3's answer, while technically correct about the different save file formats on both clients and each clients respective version being different from one another, is inaccurate, to say the least, about being able to move save file data from one platform
to another.

Using the method, outlined in the Reddit post, you are able to move an autosave from the Xbox Game Pass version of the game to the steam version of the game. User made save files however are not.

• When using this method I was able to move most of my save files' data from the Xbox Game Pass version to Steam without a problem

I hope this re-post of an answer from Reddit is able to help anyone who was struggling or thinks that it is impossible to move your save files from one client to another.
