a problem with scaling

Hey, guys.

I'm having a problem. As you can see in the picture the game image is compressed by sides.

I did set 1600:900 in the game. The monitor's native resolution is 1600:900. But somehow I get these black bars on the sides. I contacted to Microsoft Support which is a waste of time. The game was running before on the same PC (with a DVI connected monitor
but I broke it) and everything was fine. So I guess the issue is on the monitor.

Also, I tried to fix it using NVidia Control Panel. Tried all the 3 scaling modes. tried everything, googled everything and nothing helped.

Maybe you guys can help me.

The monitor is AOC E2070Swn (VGA connection).

And one interesting thing: the manufacturer says that native resolution of the monitor is 1600:900 (which is correct), but NVidia and Windows tells me it's 1024:768.

Fable vs Oblivion

there is no begining area in oblivion, thats the point. level scaling is important to the game, granted it is much better in skyrim. the problem wasn't the level scaling it was that it was scaled poorly.

Xbox One S Screen Flickering

Also those steps posted above do nothing to fix the problem... I have a bad feeling it might be a faulty Xbox one S or it needs a firmware upgrade! I also read a post on the avs forums with a video attached of the same issue. Here is the link.

I have the same problem and reported this several times via the form, but Microsoft doesn't seem to give a ****. Apparently the problem is with the resolution/scaling. I use a WQHD monitor and with a scaling of 125% there is no such problem. If I now set the scaling to 100%, it does not load any more games. To get more games displayed at 100% scale, the Xbox App window must only be wide enough so that a maximum of 4 games are next to each other. If you then scroll down, more games are loaded. With 5 games next to each other already no more.

I have tried playing the game on a desktop and there are no scaling problems, I even tried plugging my laptop into my desktop 1080p monitor via a hdmi cable and the game worked on the monitor with no scaling problems.

It is just when I try and play on the laptop screen it doesn't work properly.
