A problem with my aim assist. Loosely explained.

So I’ve been playing Overwatch on Xbox for a while, and every once in a while I’d get a weird thing happen to me. I’d go to aim at somebody and it’s as if I would lose control of my look stick for a second. It would like freak out and snap really far in
the direction I was looking previously even though I stopped moving the stick. The best I can describe is like when your controller dies and your look stick keeps turning you in the direction you were looking before it died for a few seconds even though it’s
disconnected. So recently it has been happening more and more. It’s to a point where I literally can’t play the game. Mind you, I play it A LOT. Competitively too. I also only play the Heroes in the game that require your aim to be good. Now ive tried fixing
this. Reset my aim assist settings on the game, uninstalled the game then reinstalled, tried switching my batteries out with a chargeable battery pack, hard reset the Xbox, updated my controllers, even just bought a brand new Elite controller it’s still doing
it. It also does it on other games. It’s just more prominent on Overwatch. Now im curious if anyone has an idea of what’s causing this. My last guess is that maybe the controllers wireless signal is being interrupted? By something else I have plugged in maybe?
I should add that when I was playing Fortnite and other games yesterday I kept hearing like a static cracking sound in my headset every so often. It even completely shut off and came back on immediately at one point. I have Astro a40s by the way. High quality
and expensive. Anyways some support and ideas would would be nice here because I’m at a loss right now.

aim assist problem??

I noticed in one particular match that I was having an issue with this.

I watched the theater playback closely to try to understand what was going on, I found it was all with one particular guy ..........

On the occasions where I did kill him, I was strafing, and my hitmarkers were nowhere near his body, even further away than my aim was being pushed off.

It was like the target assist was compensating, and sticking my aim half way between the guy and his hitbox..

This could possibly be why I cant pull onto the target , it may actually be in the opposite direction of what I think it is.

Aim assist is there to help you stay on target.

Joysticks are very imprecise and it's difficult to stay on target when you turn it off. Unless you're very good at the game you're going to have more difficulty playing with it off than on.
