a friend cant sign in through xbox app

Based on the description, you are posting a concern that is experienced by your friend which unable to make him sign in through the Xbox app in Windows PC. Let us check and see on what we can do to help address your concern in a timely manner.

It is possible that Xbox app is corrupted or needs an update to resolve black screen issue and launching problem. To help resolve the issue, you can share the troubleshooting steps to your friend.

1. Make sure Windows is up to date

• Press the Start button on the taskbar, type settings, and then select Settings.
  
• On Windows 10, select Update & Security. On Windows 11, select Windows Update.
  
• On the Windows Update page, select Check for updates to see if any updates are available including optional updates for your device.
  
• Once the updates have downloaded, select Install now to start the installation.
  
• Following installation, we recommend that you restart your device so that the latest updates can take effect.
  

2.Make sure both the Xbox and Gaming Services apps are up to date

• Press the Start button on the taskbar, type store, and open the Microsoft Store app.
  
• Select Library.
  
• Under Updates & downloads, check if there are any updates available for the Xbox app or Gaming Services app. If an update is available, select Update.
  

3. Uninstall and reinstall Gaming Services

• Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.
  
• In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:
  get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
  
• In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:
  start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN
  
• Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.
  
• Restart your device and try to install the game again.
  

4. Repair or Reset Xbox app

• Press Win + I to open the Settings app, and click on Apps.
  
• Click on Apps & features, and in the search box type Xbox app and click on app settings (three dots).
  
• Click on Reset.
  

5. Uninstall and Reinstall Xbox app.

• To uninstall, type Xbox app in the Windows search box, right-click and click Uninstall. After uninstalling, restart the computer.
  
• To reinstall, Open the Microsoft Store, search for Xbox app using the search box, and install Xbox app.

I have the same issue. No errors when signing in, just goes through the motions. I click on lets play button after signing in and it shows that im not logged in. I also cant play any games through the app. Get an error that i'm not logged into xbox.
tried reinstalling the xbox pc beta app, and the xbox identity provider app, restarted pc, and still not fixed.

So I have already tried to restart my pc but it still did not work I signed out my pc still did not work because I can't even sign in to the Xbox app because the tab to sign in does not show up it opens then closes the tab instantly so I cant do that and I have done the open Xbox app through the Microsoft app and it still does not work.

cant sign in cant connect to xbox live, cant start any apps or games, ya know just the usual
