A few short questions regarding my new controller's state

Hi,

I'm being a bit paranoid on this, but since I was recommended in this forum to RMA my last controller because it had some kind of scratches in the A button, which ended up being cracks, I'd like to hear your opinion on these 2 things that my new one has:

The A button has, again, some scratches, though they are barely visible and you may not be able to see them in the picture. There are only 2 of them this time and they are quite small, around 0.5cm, being both of them at the middle of the button .

When you move the right joystick to the bottom or in a small bottom-left diagonal, it gets a bit stuck close to the center, making the camera to move on its own in that direction. This is solved by simply increasing a little bit the deadzone (which I had
previously set to none) of the joystick. I guess it is nothing serious and it may be a common problem in most controllers, but I just wanted to be sure.

As a PS. I'd like to know if rechargable batteries can be used in a xbox controller as I had crossed with one page that said that it is not a good idea, while some other pages say that it is indeed the best you can do if you don't want to buy the xbox one
battery set.

Ok then. I'll try to do it today. I hope this 3rd controller won't have any major issue. If it does, I'll buy it from another shop, thank you

The scratches if they're on the button face wouldn't bother me that much unless the affect the function of the button involved, they're under my thumb so lets be honest here, I'll rarely if ever notice them!

As for stick drifting, that IS an issue that would bother me & isn't acceptable, any controller once it's "released" back to a neutral position should return there & not trigger any movement, period, anything other than that needs fixing sharpish.

Do you think that the stick drift is that serious? I feel like it just doesn't recover the original position when moved in those directions and instead it just recovers to a very close position but where the joystick does send a signal but as said, it is
solved by increasing the dead zone.

I agree that if the scratches were the only problem I wouldn't have worried that much, since in the post about the other controllers I was told that if the scratches were just minimal, there should be no problem

If the controller you've bought is broken/damaged and you have in fact just bought it... take it back and have it exchanged for a new one with the receipt. Make sure to show them where the damage is, or see if its covered by the factory warranty.

And as long as the battery is a double A or one of those fitted charge packs then they can be put in your controller regardless of style or brand I believe. If you are using rechargable double A's just make sure they are fully charged before you use them.

The scratches I wouldn't have worried about too much but the stick drift is something I would bring it back for. Especially if you just got it. You don't want it to get worse and then be unable to bring it back. Better to be safe.
