If not already solved (on PC, Game Pass), instead of starting via the game link on desktop / program list, instead open the microsoft game store and navigate to MS FS and click play.

(I am trying to purchase using the in-game store inside MS Flight Simulator. In the game it is called "Marketplace").

I have had multiple interactions with the FS support people. They first gave me a list of things to try

(update windows, log out of MS store under windows, re-install Xbox app, ...) which I did. After spending

time doing this, the exact same error persisted in the FS in-game store (aka "Marketplace").

Then support told me they found a pending transaction under my gamer tag and said they manually removed it.

I tried again to purchase in-game, with exactly the same error occurring again.

Then they sent me (another) copy of the info they sent the first time. (update windows, etc etc) which I again performed.

After doing that, I am still not able to purchase in-game; the same exact error occurs.

I finally have something of a solution. Your extremely helpful 'secret' hint "Talk to an agent".

Using some clues from the support person, I finally removed PayPal as my payment source

and replaced it with a credit card.

Now I am able to do purchases once again.

Same problem here. My configuration is:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700K 3.60 GHz

32 GB RAM

NVIDIA RTX 3080-Ti

Win 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.819

MS FS 2020 1.27.21

All system/windows updates applied (as usual)

NEVER had any problem getting the MAX out of my MS FS 2020 configuration.

Nov 7, I did the last Win 11 Pro update 22H2. May be this has something to do with it.

The last couple of days I got CTD's as soon as I hit Ready to Fly in World Map.

Using standard aircraft etc.

All Add-on's (Navigraph, Pilot2ATC, FSUIPC, SpadNext) up-to-date and never causing problems.

The weird thing is that Training Lessons are working perfect, even after hitting the Ready to Fly key.

Reinstalling MS FS 2020 is definitely not the way to go. We really need to find out what causes the CTD's.

Otherwise we have no guarantee and we will be playing trial-and-error.

One hour after I posted this problem, I noticed the following.

In my MS FS 2020 General Options > Graphics (DLSS setting Quality), I saw that quite a few settings that I had put to ULTRA (because of my RTX 3080-Ti card) were put back to default. I put them back to ULTRA and saved the new settings. Then I quit MS FS2020.

I did not immediately did not start up FS2020 but first upgraded my GeForce Game Ready driver to 526.86.

Hereafter I restarted MS FS 2020, tried my default flight with an A320 from EHAM to EHRD (live weather, realtime) and I could not believe my eyes: it just worked as usual. Bite me!

I really don't know what made it working again. I must be the extreme graphics settings and/or the new GeForce Game Ready Driver.

Hopefully somebody can comment on this. I sincerely hope that other simmers can profit from this.

I downloaded FS 2020, completed the 95GB update, but after a computer reboot was unable to reopen the game; trying to open FS resulted in the Store window appearing with a link to "Gaming Services" (which was already installed, and the Store page even said
so).

I solved my issue by going to Settings -> Apps and Features -> Gaming Services -> Advanced Options -> Reset. Whatever issues Gaming Services had were apparently resolved.
