  1. A bug in Dawnguard?

I was running through the Dwemer forge quest with my mage. I have completed that quest already with my Nord archer but was trying to get some levels for the mage. I got the first 3 segments and needed only the one at Deep Folk Crossing. When I left with
the third, iI didn't get a quest marker even though the quest journal knows I have three pieces. I went on over to where it should have been and it wasn't there. It's the same place I found the dwemer researcher and it should have been there already but it
wasn't. I haven't been saving a lot with her so my last save is no real help. Has this happened to anyone else? It's no biggie if I can't finish it but I still wondered what went wrong.

    :)

  2. A weird bug???

I have a problem, the thing is that my privacy states that games online play is allowed. If I then start minecraft and click on mini games and then join a minigame, I get the error that it is not allowed to play games online. Can I get some help please???

    found a bug....

Ever since the last up date i have noticed that when i hit the Xbox button because of the sound update for surround that none of it makes sound until it moves back the main screen... not sure if this is isolated to my Scorpio or if it is across all consoles.
all other sound works through headphones.

You mean the Lost to the Ages questline? I don't see any reported bugs like this on the wiki page. I finished the questline with out any issues.

This happened to my daughter on one of her characters. She had a previous save though LadyB, she is constantly saving, even keeps a notebook with details on most saves. It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure she reloaded, seems like she had to go back to
before entering Arkngthamz though. I cant swear it was Deep Folk Crossing though, where is DFC? Seems her trouble was in Mzulft, where the store room is... but like I said I cant swear to it now. I'll ask her later.

    .

On one of my characters I gave Illia armor I looted from Katria's corpse, which she didn't seem to like and began walking around in her underwear instead... pretty sure that is a bug related to Illia and not that quest though.. I just happened to get the
right combo of armor and head gear, and she said no, not happening Dragonborn.

  6. Thanks, I kind of figured it was a variation on the bugs that were in the wikia. It reports a bug with Muzlft and I did get the segment from there before I started that quest but I'm sure it called itself an Aertherium fragment and I was allowed to show
it to Katria. DFC is in the Reach near the dwemer ruins you do for Peryite. Actually the pedestal the fragment is on is down much closer to Drudach and Dragon Bridge. Unfortunately, the mage is on the cloud and I've saved over the Arkngthamz beginning. It
doesn't matter i suppose. I have completed the quest.

    .

Your daughter sounds like me. I don't make notes on each save but I have a notebook for the game. I have recipes, notes, thoughts on enchantment builds and comparisons of each character at various points in the game. It helps when I go back to the beginning
and think a low level character is lame to check on one I thought better ant the same point. Then I have a concrete reason to say yes, she is or don't be a dunce she's fine.

I think I've gone to DFC last all three times I've done that quest because I can never find the place even with Katria's map, cartography was not one of her strong suits apparently. Your description of it's location reminded me of hunting for that place.
If I'm recalling it correctly, it's the place along the Karth river on her map, right ?

I refer to my youngsters notes as sitreps, because they truly are in most cases. Some are a paragraph, some are just a drawing or word that means something in her 11 yr old brain. She does keep track of potion and smithing recipes too I've noticed. Also
like you prefers to engage at distance, either with magic or a bow. She started her notebook because we have three people playing the game, one being her little sister who is the proverbial bull in the china shop and will play whatever save file comes up first
    before realizing it isn't hers.

Yes, that's where it actually is though DFC is up river from where the segment is. It's confusing even with the wiki directing me which I did this time since I had no quest marker to keep me heading in the right direction (I get so lost). Then once I got
there I was attacked by foresworn and an ancient dragon. I have a continuous set of bound composition books (you know, the black & white ones) from Morrowind through Oblivion to Skyrim. I lost some progress on my Breton by saving without looking. I know better
than to have multiple characters active, that's how the poor baby Dunmer got stuck in Bleak Falls at Master.

My final saves before I go to bed or an extended break from Skyrim got to the cloud. Between my older daughter and I, we can keep saves without a disaster for the most part. However, with her little sister in the mix it's becoming an adventure to the point
I'm adding a used 360 slim just for them soon!

    .

Thank you for the explanation Lady Bastet on DFC, I no longer think my map reading skills are kaput. Even my third time on this quest, I couldn't quite remember how I got there, just that the map was not much help. Throw into the mix those nasty Forsworn
around every corner in the Reach makes snooping around there a bit of a hassle.

  10. If one can afford it, children need their own toys if Mom or Dad want to use them too. As quickly as I could afford it I made sure that the three of us at home each had a computer. Game consoles came later because we played games on the Mac at that time.

I agree. Plus I don't want them accidentally ( or purposely) launching GTA. They've been locked in on Minecraft lately though on their computer. It looks like a game that could play on the old Macintosh 128 lol.

  12. As I have mentioned my son, who was a Lego maniac, has grown up to become addicted to Minecraft to the extent that he is a co-owner of his server. He's a Minecraft guru. lol One of my fondest memories of bonding with my adult son came the first Christmas
after my husband died. I needed a new TV because the other was going dark. I bought the big screen HD that came with a free Xbox 360 which my son got along with Oblivion for Christmas. The two TVs were set catty-cornered to each other and my son and I sat
opposite our own TV with me playing Morrowind with the sound off and him playing Oblivion on the new TV. It was really great.

Pretty cool idea with the two screens. I like that.

Anyway, back on topic for a moment, I had a real strange one happen last night with a Legendary dragon fight in the college courtyard. For some weird reason I kept getting these messages that my "Vampire abilities were draining from the dragons attack."
Serana is with me opposite side of courtyard attacking said dragon. I'm a Werewolf! How? or what is going on here? I'm thinking that she was hitting me with her attack and that perk I have to prevent this was not working. I saved and tried again and the same
thing happened. Okay! So I set up for the third try and different tactics but the Dragon didn't show up the third time. Can she turn you into a Vampire that easily? or was it just a glitch?

Side note: I've only had one Ancient and One Blood attack me since I started DG. I'm on my tenth Legendary now. Is that all we get anymore?

That does sound great, and a good way to bond closer during a rough time, hope you two still get to do that from time to time. Even if there are not two TV's in the room. The only way I'll play the COD games anymore is with my two youngsters- privately
on our own console against the AI, or each other. They get a kick out me calling fire support missions on them if I have mortars or air...lol.

    .

I might have to try one of the earlier ES games since ESO is not coming until the end of June. I'm open to suggestions, would you recommend one? What I like most about Skyrim is the open world, free to go wherever I choose aspect and the approaches one can
take. And the history as well.

  15. I personally love the story and the alien landscape and critters in Morrowind but the primitive graphics may put you off. It is playable on a 360 though. Oblivion is much easier to get around in and I like the main quest quite a bit. The two DLC are also
excellent. Oblivion has a weird leveling and can get hairy if you take all your levels and I never go past 22 (I think) which gives all the best leveled loot without introducing some foes that are very hard to beat.
