    9 year old inactive xbox account banned?


    I have a 9 year old xbox account that has not been touched since 2014 last logged in on a Xbox 360, today I remembered about the account who belonged to a sibling who has passed. The account was mysteriously banned after 9 years of inactivity, on the Microsoft account the username is "banned user" and im unable to acess anything on the xbox page. I was wondering if this is due to inactivity or if there is another reason. Any help is appreciated greatly.

    Thank you, so it seems that only the Xbox profile has been banned

    There you can view the enforcement history for the account
    I visited that link to try and view the ban and it says there is no active suspension on the account??

    when I log into the original email it shows everything as normal and functions as normal, when I click the "Xbox profile" tab it redirects me to a page that says "Something went wrong, we can't sign you in because your account has been suspended".

    That's strange, LowJDM in this situation I can recommend you to reach Microsoft support and ask them if they're able to see why the Xbox profile has been banned.
    Unbanning the Xbox profile can't be promised because the enforcement team is in charge of that, but I think they can guide you better

    I'm sorry to say but if no one logged in that account all this time probably the system deleted it

    When we don't use log into our accounts for a long time Microsoft send us an email telling that if we don't log in again before certain date the account would be deleted forever and the content of the account is going to be deleted too

    Probably this is what happened to your sibling's account
