766MB Updates - the "feature" of Back Compat

Have to say this is becoming quite tiring. Granted apps need updates but clearly the size for all the Back Compat updates being 766MB implies a minimum that must be done even for the smallest of changes. Trying to play during prime time without a fast
net connection (thanks Netflix) - and it is taking forever. Can't even play until this update is done. Unreal. Thanks Steve and Bill ... another night ruined.

In essence, that is what Microsoft is doing with Xbox One's back-compat feature. The back-compat file includes emulation software to turn Xbox One into a virtual Xbox 360 or original Xbox.

Hi, the thing with the backward compatible titles, is that the patch/update is the full game and the xbox 360 emulator as well. So the size of the game is going to be 766mb or more, there is no other way to do it. It's either have the emulator that emulates
the Xbox 360 well or have one like the Xbox 360 had for original xbox games, that didn't turn out to well at all. Saying that, you could always update the game sometime earlier in the day, and then you will be able to play it without waiting for the download
to finish.

As StuartATrueRed suggested, you might want to try updating at a time that's more convenient, or you could turn on automatic updates on the console and then the magic will happen while the console is in a low power mode.
