$75 credit for purchasing xbox one

I received a message that it seems a few people have gotten. It said that I would receive a $75 credit to the store if I purchased and registered an xbox one by july 31st. I went out last week and picked one up, however the message is no longer on my xbox
360.... I bought the xbox one because of this promotion, I do not want to open it without knowing I will receive the credit. I spoke to customer service and I was run around in loops and told to post here, because they could not do anything (other than suggesting
I check my email...). I was told the "enforcement team" will respond to me within 24 hours.... so here's me trying something that seems completely illogical.

Hello, I have a question regarding the xbox one promo in order to receive my 75$ credit after purchasing the xbox one before the 31st of July. I had recently purchased my xbox one after receiving a message on my xbox 360 dashboard telling me that I was eligible
to participate in the promo. I was wondering if I had to do anything else other than set my xbox one to my home console to recover my 75$ code.

Sorry but setting the console as the Home console and registering it were explicit conditions of the offer.

So...you buy the Xbox One, you set and activate it as the home console, receive code on that console then redeem through Microsoft's digital/physical stores towards games, accessories etc etc

you will receive a message on the Xbox One's message center with a coupon to redeem a code valued at $75 on the Xbox Store or participating online Microsoft store.

According to the small print that's what should happen.

 

As superhugmonkey has said, set up the console. Make it your Home console through the Settings and don't forget to register it on the website.

Then, according to the Terms and Conditions of the offer, you'll receive your $75 code by August 15th which can then be redeemed for items in the store.

 

Yea the problem is the customer service rep said there's no way to know if I will ever actually get the $75... Since Microsoft didn't send me an email voucher, just the screen pop up. Is it just any Xbox one bought in July that gets registered receives the
$75 credit? Or what, because I've seen people saying they either got the deal or not with no real evidence either way other than the screen on their 360 that no longer shows up.

I don't really want to open up the xbox and register it unless I'm getting the credit, because if I don't I will probably return it until a lower price point or a good deal comes around

Any Xbox One would be eligible as long as you activate it by July 31.

 

Well, it is now August 19th and I have not received the credit, as I guessed. What steps can I take from here?

I know I would say I'd wait patiently, but just pointing out it has been over a week past the date the credit was supposed to be received by (August 15th). It's not like there is much to spend the credit on atm, but I don't want this to be forgotten for
too long, so it does get resolved eventually.

 

I know that Official Support is looking into this for you, but something caught my attention during this discussion. You stated in a couple of your posts that you didn't want to open and register the console without some confirmation of receiving the $75
as part of the promotion. However, the promotion information clearly states that you must activate the Xbox One as a home console by July 31st. If you did not open the console and activate it by that date then you haven't met the requirements to receive the
$75 from the promotion.

Yes I finally opened my xbox, registered it, and made sure it was set up as my home console (which it was already defaulted to that) on July 31st, as I was assured I would receive the $75 credit by August 15th.

Again not a huge rush, as long as I get it in a somewhat reasonable time frame (within the next month or so, hopefully?)

 

Bumping to keep the thread active in hopes of actually receiving the promotion offered. It is now over half a month after the latest date I was supposed to receive the credit. However, looks like everyone else is in the same boat - all similar threads got
the same answer if looking into it over a week ago and no communication since
