6 Months, 3 Geforce cards with NVLDDMKM error

Hello, in the past 3 months, I have had 3 GPU's that all within the span of a couple weeks-months start crashing in all 3D applications, citing rendering device lost, checking event viewer says

"The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event: \Device\Video3 Error occurred on GPUID: b00 The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table"

This started when I bought a used 3080 and a MSI a1000g PSU to power and it lasted 3 weeks before this error occurred.

Another weird thing is swapping in my 1070 presents no issues and runs perfectly fine.

Things I've tried: Going into the registry and changing the TdrDelay to a higher number. Reinstalling Windows New Graphics Cards DDU Clean Install of new and old drivers

Can anyone help? I don't want the newest GPU to be corrupted if that's whats happening.

Please, try these steps:

Go to the Nvidia folder Search for a file called nvlddmkm.sy_

C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver

Copy the file to the root of C: drive.

C:\nvlddmkm.sy_

Go to the system folder where the drivers are stored

C:\Windows\System32\drivers.

In the folder, look for the faulty nvlddmkm.sys file and rename it to nvlddmkm.sys.old.

Open the Terminal window by pressing the Windows Key + X and Select "Open Powershell as Administrator".

Enter this command;

cd and press the Enter key

expand.exe nvlddmkm.sy_ nvlddmkm.sys and press the Enter key.

With this last command, you will be able to unzip the nvlddmkm.sy_ file, which you had placed in the C: root, and transform it to create the new nvlddmkm.sys.

Find the latter C:\nvlddmkm.sys and replace it in the C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder.

Now, just restart your PC and test Nvidia.

i had that exact issue with my 3080ti, uninstalled the driver still the same, re installed windows fixed it. not a hardware fault.

u cant play fifa withput upgrading their shoud be option to pay £3 for 6 months to upgrade to ultimate but only option is to pay £ 10.99 a month and on tiny card it said 6 month game pass
