50 Hz support

Xervek, I get your point. To be transparent, our settings design currently only allows 5 options per page. We quickly ran out of space and had to put settings somewhere, so many ended up in troubleshooting. We're aware of the discoverability issues, and
I'm sorry about the negative connotation.

 

I really thought that the new april update would provide 50 Hz support for the blu-ray player app but 50 Hz still doesn't work properly on my console. If I change the video settings to 50 Hz then the screen goes black for a short moment and I am asked if
I would like to keep these settings. Until here everything works fine. When I look into the settings of my TV, the input signal is at 50 Hz. But when I press "yes" (in order to keep the new console settings), then the screen goes black again and the input
signal changes back to 60 Hz.

I also have to say that I never really had a problem while watching a blu-ray; but everytime I insert a DVD there is this really strong and unacceptable jerking (doesn't matter which DVD, none of mine works properly).

 

The reason is because blu rays are normally running in 24p. DVDs are running in 50/60hz what causes the issue.

I have red that Microsoft decided to fix the blu ray app separately from the promised dashboard update.

You need to know and understand, year 2014 means that Microsoft needs to learn how to implement around 20 years old technology into a multimedia console. They discovered Europe in year 2014 and have not noticed us before. So now they need some time to understand
50hz and implement it to their ultimate multimedia console.

 

Is there any way this will be fixed any day soon? I'm seriously thinking about returning my xbox one if this problem is not fixed ASAP!

But if someone have some helpful info about this issue, I would be very happy

This was fixed more than a year ago. What problems are you still having?

 

Really? Because when I change the settings on my xbox it just switch right back.. Any idea what else I can do?

It's working as intended. It only switches to 50 Hz when 50 Hz content is played. Just insert a 50 Hz DVD, you will see it switches to 50 Hz just fine.

You may need to enable 50 Hz in the Live TV app also, but I think that option was removed as it's redundant.

If the checkbox is ticked everything should be fine.

I understand what you are saying. But when I play games like call of duty or any other sort of fps games the screen picture is a little delayed.. and thats annoying me so much!

 

I see, but that has nothing to do with 50/60 Hz. You can't fix that by forcing your console to output 50 Hz either.

Does you TV have a game mode? If so you need to enable that, it greatly reduces the input lag. I know this can be very annoying, and it's espacially noticeable in games like CoD.

I also had the refresh rate problem after buying my Xbox One in August 2015. Whilst I had the 50 Hz option selected from the main settings menu, my TV always refreshed at 60 Hz in the Live TV app, which lead to stuttering. I thought I'd add a note to clarify
what you need to do to make sure Live TV displays properly at 50 Hz because the Xbox phone support didn't have a full solution for me and the answer is quite a few pages back on this forum.

It seems as though you need to have:

A) the "Allow 50 Hz" setting checked in the main Settings > Display and Sounds, and

B) selected the 50 Hz refresh rate from the main TV app - found by opening the TV app, pressing the menu button on your controller, then going to Settings > Audio and Video.
