    5.1 sound not working in main menu


    Dear all,

    I have my XBox One S connected to a Yamaha RX-V383 AV-Receiver by HDMI, went through all settings and 5.1 sound works fine in games. However, when I am in the main menu, only the rear speaker sound is on while the 3 speakers in the front are quite.

    I have tried all "sound toubleshooting guides" and also tried all sound options in the audio/video and TV/AV menu. Nothing works.

    Any ideas?

    My Xbox doesn't have sound

    My tv is working when I turn on my Xbox the intro song ones on then the Xbox doesn't have sound I shuffle through menu no sound and settings are at Dolby digital 5.1 and the digital discovery is disabled. Any help!!

    No voice sound with 5.1 surround sound

    Hi!

    I recently buy a 5.1 sound system. I made the changes required in the setup of the xbox one (bitstream and surround sound) and in my sound system.

    I've try it with Netflix and all the surrounding sounds seems to be working as they should in the speakers they should, but there is the main issue that no voice is hearing when 5.1 is selected.

    My main purpose is to hear everything with 5.1 as that is why I buy a 5.1 system. If I select stereo in the setup of the xbox, it works, but is stereo.

    I found a couple of post regarding the same issue, and they fix it selecting stereo but none of they where using a 5.1 system. Just TV speakers.

    Anyone knows what could it be the problem and how to fix it?

    XBOX ONE audio question (Center Speaker)

    February 2015- This is kind of crazy but it worked for me. I was not getting 5.1 out of TV through my XBO but I WAS getting 5.1 from movies and games.

    In the XBO menu I switched the audio to "Stereo" from 5.1/7.1 and now I'm actually getting 5.1 sound. Makes no sense but give it a shot.

    5.1 Surround Sound - HDMI

    I have a 5.1 dolby digital receiver/dvd player hooked to xbox one with an optical cable and to the tv with hdmi Xbox setting is set to bitstream out dolby digital and I get full 5.1 on games and blue ray works perfectly and menu sounds but any music or
    video app or a dvd that has 5.1 audio won't work the music and video apps only give 2.1 and the dvd with 5.1 sounds so muffled I can't hear I have tried everything and all I can get is this or fake surround and I don't want fake surround if all the apps are
    in 2.1 why wouldn't the Xbox be smart enough to mix the sound through all the channels of audio if the program only does 2.1

    Is it just me with surround sound issues?

    I have a 5.1 surround sound & DTS or uncompressed 5.1 works fine for me but it keeps defaulting to uncompressed 7.1.

    Thanks for the reply, i just bough the POLK n1 surroundbar for the xbox and plugged it directly. works great ingame but when im browsing the dash the sound seems to skip from time to time when imswitching between menus. anyone got the same problem? and is
    it normal only stereo uncompressed work or dolby 5.1 should work?

    Help Needed!

    I have the same issue with my Xbox. If it is connected via HDMI the 5.1 sound will rarely work going to my surround sound receiver regardless of what the settings are in the Xbox but if I connect it using an optical audio cable the 5.1 works without fail.

    The Xbox is an Arcade edition.
